Reflection of Löbbeckes mansion/ Inselwall Park Braunschweig Mai 2015
The 1881 built for the banker Alfred Löbbecke in the Roman Renaissance-style villa on the island of Wall 11 was from the Braunschweiger SS temporarily as official residence (not later than January 1935, the official residence was then in the former parliament building) and later in the years of Nazi rule as a service apartment SS men used. As a place of remembrance is Löbbeckes Villa for the enforcement of the National Socialist claim to power with the help of the SS. In the bomb attack on 14/15. October 1944, the building was destroyed and rebuilt in the late sixties in a modified form.
